To the Pentagon and Wall Street, we must march

March 19th, the 6th Commemoration of the U.S. invasion of Iraq is less than four weeks away. On March 21st, two days later comes the March on the Pentagon mobilization and then April 4th, two weeks later is the Beyond War; A New Economy is Possible mobilization on Wall Street in New York City. There is much to protest and much to change.

Local actions across the country March 19-20-21 to say 'Yes We Can'

"Beyond War, a New Economy Is Possible" is the theme for March actions marking the sixth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, organized by United for Peace and Justice, the nation's largest antiwar coalition. That is the "Yes We Can!," campaign logo above.

UFPJ has called for nationwide locally-based actions March 19-21, the sixth anniversary of the Iraq invasion and occupation, and a major mobilization in New York on the April 4 anniversaries of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Riverside Church speech in 1967 and his assassination the following year.

As one of MoveOn's 3.2 million members and a participant of some years' standing in MoveOn vigils, living room events, online activities, etc., I opened yesterday's MoveOn email from Nita Chaudhary with considerable interest. It was entitled, simply, "Iraq."

My interest quickly turned to shock and then anger.
